DESCRIPTION:Open to TMU Students\, TMU Alumni\, Guests & all FEC Members – Join us in person at Toronto Metropolitan University or online via Zoom! \nFamily offices are becoming an important part of the next chapter for many Canadian business families. This event will convene students\, TMU alumni\, business family members\, family office leaders\, advisors\, and family enterprise professionals for an afternoon of insight\, dialogue\, and connection. \nDr. Francesco Barbera\, Academic Director of the Family Business Institute\, will share emerging findings from his forthcoming study in Family Business Review\, drawing on practitioner perspectives to highlight the questions and challenges currently shaping the family office field. He is an award-winning educator and internationally published scholar whose work focuses on family enterprise\, entrepreneurship\, succession\, governance\, and next-generation development. For more than a decade\, Francesco’s work has spanned Canada\, Australia\, and the United States\, where he has helped build family business education programs for students\, practitioners\, and enterprising families. He also serves on the Editorial Board of Family Business Review and provides professional training for family business advisors through leading international organizations. \n\n	Moderator\n	\n														\n\n	Joe Chidley\,Writer and Editor\, Managing Editor of Canadian Family Offices\n	\n	As Managing Editor of Canadian Family Offices\, Joe Chidley oversees editorial content for the only media outlet in the country dedicated entirely to family offices and the ecosystem that surrounds them. Joe’s extensive career in journalism and communications includes stints as columnist at the Financial Post and editor-in-chief of Postmedia Content Works; as senior writer and associate publisher of Maclean’s magazine; as senior vice-president at a leading Canadian public relations firm\, and nearly a decade as editor of Canadian Business magazine. Joe holds a B.A. and an M.A. in English literature from Western University. \n\n	Panelists\n	\n														\n\n	Judi Cunningham\, CPEA\, FEA Founder & CEO of Trella Advisory Group\n	\n	Judi Cunningham is the Founder and CEO of Trella Advisory Group\, an interdisciplinary advisory firm serving enterprising families and the family offices that support them. For more than 25 years\, she has worked alongside families\, family offices\, and their advisors to build alignment and strengthen decision-making across generations. Judi has a particular passion for engaging the rising generation; helping family members build the knowledge\, confidence\, and relationships they need to step into meaningful roles as owners\, stewards\, and leaders. \nJudi founded the Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) program and designation and helped launch the Business Families Centre at the University of British Columbia.
