SUMMARY:Community Call: Indigenous Equity and Why this Matters in Canada
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to participate in our community call where we will discuss the importance of Indigenous equity and share our efforts towards reconciliation. ABC Recycling has been engaging in meaningful dialogue with local First Nations leaders and community members\, and Karen Alko will be sharing how and why this has become the centrepiece of our sustainability initiative. Additionally\, we will have Mindy Henyu\, an experienced Indigenous and Corporate Relations Professional and Reconciliation Activator\, who has collaborated with First Nations communities\, and Gena Rotstein of Karma & Cents\, who will discuss Indigenous Grant-Making. Her leadership and strategic vision have not only contributed to ABC Recycling’s success as a responsible corporate entity but have also made a positive impact on the communities they serve. \n  \n \nMindy Henyu \nIndigenous & Corporate Relations Professional \nServing her second tenure as a director on TNDC’s board; she previously served from 2018 to 2021. Mindy holds a rich and extensive background collaborating with First Nation governments\, the energy industry and BC provincial government. She prides herself in being a Reconciliation Activator. Mindy is the Director of Sustainability & Strategic Partnerships for Surepoint Group. \n  \n  \n \nGena Rotstein  \nPrincipal – Karma & Cents Inc. \nGena grew up in a family business and was part of a larger enterprising family. She has over 20 years of philanthropy management experience with a Master’s in Non-Profit Management and Jewish Communal Service from Brandeis University and as a certified Family Enterprise Advisor.
