Kinnect Vancouver: Talking About the “Hard Stuff”

February 11, 2026 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm PST

Open to All Members — Please join us for an evening of connection, insight and practical tools you can use right away to learn how to lead game-changing family conversations.

Every business family faces the challenge of talking about the hard stuff — succession, fairness, money, power, conflict— while trying to keep discussions constructive and avoid getting pulled into the drama. In this high-impact session, we'll hear from Deena Chochinov, Director of Family Dynamics & Governance at KPMG Family Office, who will walk us through real-world case studies that show you how to approach these moments with clarity and confidence, so you can help frame conversations that build trust across generations and actually move the family forward.

You'll walk away from this session knowing how to:

  • Reposition your role in the discussion to enable meaningful dialogue—not just offer opinions or advice.
  • Ask disarming questions that lower defensiveness and surface what really matters.
  • Use intentional language that keeps everyone at the table and feeling heard.
  • Navigate tension and emotion without becoming the referee or judge.

This event is perfect for anyone who wants to deepen their impact and feel more confident in the most sensitive, high-stakes conversations within their family or the families they support.

Please note: This is a relationship-building event focused on peer connections and learning. No solicitation or selling of services is permitted, particularly for any advisors attending the event.
