Jake Hirsch-Allen grew up as the son of a diplomat, bouncing between Mexico, New Delhi, Washington, and Israel — an upbringing that instilled in him a deep curiosity for people, cultures, and community-building. That foundation led him from gaming on an Apple Classic at age 7 to programming elevator banks at 13, and eventually to law school, where he tackled privacy, intellectual property, and technology rights while clerking at Israel's Supreme Court and litigating in both Parliament and Capitol Hill. He went on to serve as Executive Director of McGill's International Criminal Law Clinic, work with Global Affairs Canada, intern at Human Rights Watch, and contribute to defense teams at international criminal tribunals in the former Yugoslavia and Cambodia.
A true builder at heart, Jake co-founded Canada's largest software boot camp and developed state-wide public-private partnerships for LinkedIn via Microsoft. His journey has taken him from a fascination with technology, through mastering its means of production and navigating its halls of power, to a passionate commitment to greater human agency over how technology is developed and used. Today, he brings that rare combination of lived experience, legal expertise, and tech fluency to every stage he steps on.
