From Silence to Strength: A Conversation on Mental Health in Family Business
October 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm EDT
Open to Guests & All Members - Don't miss this significant Community Call on a topic that sits at the heart of every family enterprise, yet is rarely spoken about openly.
Mental health challenges affect approximately one in five adults- which means one in five family business owners, CEOs, board members, and employees may be navigating a mental health challenge right now. And yet, in family enterprise, silence is often the first response.
The overlapping pressures of family, ownership, and leadership create unique strains that most businesses never face. When one person is struggling, the whole family system feels it. And when families stay silent, the costs run deep: broken trust, fractured relationships, and pain that can carry across generations.
Join Andrew Keyt, Chairman and Founder of Generation6 Family Enterprise Advisors and author of From Stigma to Strength, alongside Amy Stein of Henry's Cameras, for an honest and deeply human conversation about what mental health really looks like inside a family business. Drawing from the newly released report From Silence to Strength, Andrew and Amy will share real stories, help families recognize the patterns that keep people stuck, and offer a more compassionate and actionable way forward.
This is the conversation that needs to happen — and we hope you'll be part of it.

Amy Stein MBA, FEA
Senior Manager, Business and Wealth Transition, Scotia Wealth - Advanced Planning and Services
Amy Stein brings a unique combination of practical family business experience as a 4th generation working family member at Henry's Cameras, and the strategic thinking needed to help today's wealthy families navigate complex challenges. Grounded in the belief that businesses do not operate in silos, Amy understands that individual business units, employees, board members, and family members are deeply interconnected.
Her approach goes beyond the numbers — focusing on building social capital, strengthening family governance, and creating purpose-driven strategies that put the whole family at the heart of every decision. Through Generations, Amy offers guidance in strategic philanthropy, family governance and dynamics, corporate charitable giving, and fractional business advisory — helping families see their uniqueness as a competitive advantage and creating stability both personally and financially.
Amy also founded and launched the Henry's (now Pixel) Foundation in March 2020, a Private Foundation and Canadian Registered Charity dedicated to championing creativity, innovation, and technology as tools to support mental health and eliminate the stigma of mental illness through the power of storytelling.
